
Mental Capacity Act 2005
The long awaited Mental Capacity Act 2005 received Royal Assent on 7 April 2005. The Act will come into force in 2007. For the first time in law there will be a clear statutory framework giving rights to those who lack capacity due to illness, injury or disability and to assist in decisions regarding their financial matters, their health and their welfare.

The National Service Framework for long-term conditions (NSF)
